| This Avro Lancaster B Mk III is a wonderful rendition of LS739 / HW-Z which served with 100 Squadron RAF and was based at RAF Grimsby - now somewhere under what is now New Waltham and not to be confused with RAF Binbrook nearby. Being one of the four Heavy Bombers which Ares Games released for Wings of Glory WW2 or WGS in 2014 this aircraft is not one I would recommend for an inexperienced user to try and Plug & Play into the game as if it was for instance a fighter or a Bristol Beaufighter. This is because to operate this aircraft properly there is usage of an Aircraft Management Card required as it is both multi engine and multi crew and this enables individual engines and crew to become incapacitated in an attack as opposed to just wiping out the entire aircraft! For that see Explosion Chit in the Rules & Accessory Pack. Important to note Aircraft Management in-game does not disrupt the gameplay beyond a reasonable extent and is carried out with the chits and tokens supplied with the aircraft instead of dice. Target and Bombing Cards are also included with the aircraft as these are all upgraded from the default ones supplied within the RAP. Recommended? Get to know the game first with the operation of Heavy Bombers as a challenge one is able to look forward to. Take the learn to walk before you run approach to this aircraft I say with two years' playing experience and it is recommended without hesitation - 10/10. | |||
